What are Ethiopian Animist?????????????

What is that religion that having a tattoo on forehead because I saw on the buss an old Ethiopian lady with Orthodox cross on her forehead. She seems to cover her head and wear all cover clothes. Like on that day was very very hot (summer) and she was wearing long dress all in cloths and plus covered her head while the type of weather was to wear light clothes.
