Anyone done earthquake mitigation (Wood-framed house) ?

I'm also close to the New Madrid fault and have similar concerns. In my local (Jacksonville, Florida) we get hurricanes which often contain tornadoes, so foundation anchor bolts and cross bracing are required. Possibly some guy wires could be added at low cost, but bad for the appearance. Sudden failure of a guy line can whip dangerously. How about plastic guy lines that can stretch without breaking? Neil
