How can I make this in an experiment?

Put the gs into the cups, each with a different salt solution. Certain solutions will cause the g to absorb the solution while others will cause the liquid in the g to move outward. This is the same principle as putting a cell in an isotonic/hypotonic/hypertonic solution.
